A Monument of Celebration
Is there an invention that you love and is worthy of a monument?
Birthday balloons? Bubbles? Toys?
Use your sketching skills to make quick idea sketches.
How big will your proposed monument be?
Where will it be displayed? A park? A building?
Refine your idea.
Pick the best sketch or idea.
Get a new sheet of paper and make a pencil drawing of your monument.
Show the details. Sketch lightly because you will erase the pencil lines later.
Once you have your monument completed use a black tip pen to trace your pencil lines.
Erase the pencil lines.
Make copies of your drawing. Now you can try different colors and techniques of shading to complete your monument.
It doesn't hurt to have a few different ideas.
Make sure to sign and date your work.
Presentation
Present your work to a friend, teacher, or family member.
What was their response? Did they understand your idea?
Would you make any changes based on the response from your presentation?
