Pointillism is a technique of painting in which small, distinct dots of color are applied in patterns to form an image.
Pointillism was a specific way to apply paint to the canvas. The colors were meticulously put on the canvas. The smaller the dot the clearer the painting. Pointillism is as much about science as it is art.
The theory of colors is very important to the success of these paintings.
