Lesson 4: Shading a Circle to Make a Sphere
Watch the videos and draw a sphere.
Shading is important.
Value is the light or darkness of a color.
Using more pressure on a pencil will give you a darker value.
Pencils that have softer lead will also give you darker values.
Use 5 different values in your drawing.
Pick a light source. Where is the light coming from in the picture? Left or right? Top or bottom?
Light and dark values will make your drawing appear 3-dimensional.
