Weather is a good subject for any picture.
The wind howls... sun shines... rain taps on the windows... How can an artist show these things in an artwork? Wind howling or whipping around may take leaves up in the air. As the weather changes take time to make observations. How high and how far will leaves travel? Winter is an excellent time to observe and draw weather conditions. Snow is on the way... Is it a storm or a gentle flurry? This is your chance to decide what the weather will be like in your art. I am hoping for just a little snow! If you are just starting to add art to your day... pick easy tasks.
Develop the art habit first. Read and talk about art. Make a list of art that appeals to you. There are many ways to incorporate art. Make one day a week "studio" day. Get messy with paint and clay. It is important to try the studio arts too! Allow extra time for clean-up! The H.A.T. Academy Art Club is a good introduction to drawing and developing an art habit. Each month try a new drawing project or challenge. The best thing to do is begin with small projects. Work your way up to more in depth projects. You will be glad that you started an art program! |
