Playing is important to creativity. Playing with paint is an activity that encourages creativity. The simple task of making wrapping paper gives an opportunity to experiment with paint.
Use white paper, brown paper bags, or the back of old wrapping paper to create your own wrapping paper.
You will need paint, old paint brushes, sponges, paper towels, water cup, palette, table cover, apron, & floor covering.
(Poster/Tempera paint will work)
The art concepts to focus on are pattern and mixing colors. Now play with the different types of brushes and sponges to make different types of lines on the wrapping paper. Let the colors mix on the page. Have fun! This activity is for exploring what is possible with the paint!
Don't be too judgmental... just have fun. The next time you need to wrap a gift pull out your creations and add a bow!
Make art part of your day.
